Grill Cheese and Tomato Soup Thursday

Thursdays are nice but with the weather hitting your face with snow, it could be a better day.  Anyhow tonight is our first cooking lab this semester and tonight our cook is Jonny Korsmeyer.  Let's hope he doesn't burn us with his bad jokes.

So we started with heating the stove for the soup.  Jonny had trouble opening the can so he needed help.  While pouring the soup we added the milk, but the pot we had was not big enough for the whole thing.  Our guest Lena was kind enough to get us a bigger pot.  While Josh was stirring the soup everybody was cutting the cheese because Jonny decided to save money and buy a large piece of cheese. After the cheese was cut we buttered the bread and placed one piece of bread butter side down in the pan, added the cheese, and put the other bread butter side up.

There was a problem with the pan, we had trouble flipping the sandwich because the pan didn't have enough grease.  So thanks to Lena, again, we were able to get a better pan and a can of spraying grease.

So with the new cooking pan the grilling was doing much better and was going a bit quicker.  After the food was ready everybody sat down and ate.  The cheese was good and warm, except for the first one which just looked messed up.  Personally I did not try the soup but from the guests' reaction I say it was good.
