Evan's Taco Bake

Today's host was Evan. We made Taco Bake. First we cooked one pound of hamburger meat. Next, we put taco seasoning in the hamburger meat. Then, we chopped an onion. We then, sprayed a 9 by 13 pan with cooking spray. Next, we put taco sauce in the bottom of the 9 by 13 pan. We then, broke the biscuits into 4 pieces. Then, we put the pieces in the 9 by 13 pan and mixed them into the sauce. Next, we spread the pieces throughout the bottom of 9 by 13 and we put onions, green chiles, and black olives on half of it. We then baked it for about 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Then, we put cheese and the cooked hamburger meat on the cooked biscuits and we put it back in the oven for about 8 minutes at 400 degrees.

Chicken Parmesan

The host this week was Elliot and we made Chicken Parmesan! We started by cooking some chicken breast patties in the oven. We also made some spaghetti noodles (even though we didn't get a picture of them). When the chicken was almost done, we pulled it out of the oven and added a little bit of sauce and cheese. We used mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Then we put it back in the oven for about 5 minutes to melt the cheese. Most of the group really enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan, and some of us ate it on top of the spaghetti noodles.

Sauteed Carrots

The host this week was Jordan. We are working on making healthy choices, so today we made a quick, easy, and healthy side dish: cooked carrots! Jordan purchased a bag of mini-cut carrots. First, we heated up a pot with 1/4th cup water and one tablespoon of margarine. Then we added the carrots to the pot and cooked them on medium heat for about 15 minutes. Then we removed them from the stove, let them cool for a few minutes, and enjoyed! Everyone was surprised at how much they liked the cooked carrots! We also learned about some other things you could add to the carrots if we wanted.

Hamburgers

This weeks host was Ben Sagan he made hamburgers. The ingredients we had were swiss cheese, hamburger patties, hamburger buns, and onion.

He also made rice with hamburgers. We used a rice cooker to make the rice.
We used Ben Sagan's George Foreman Grill to make the hamburgers.
The burgers were done when they weren't red in the middle anymore.
Ben had his hamburger with barbecue sauce and peanut butter. The rest of us used ketchup or barbecue sauce, or ate their burger plain.

Spaghetti and Garlic Bread!

Lena was the host this week and we made spaghetti and garlic bread. We used ground beef, spaghetti sauce, and spaghetti noodles for the main meal. For the garlic bread we used a loaf of French bread, garlic powder, oregano, and a pinch of salt.

First we browned the ground beef. When it was cooked, we drained the grease. Then we added the sauce to the beef to simmer while the noodles finished cooking. While the noodles were boiling in water, we cut the French bread in half the long way. We spread some butter on the bread, and then sprinkled on some garlic powder, oregano, and salt. Then we put the two halves back together and baked it in the oven at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Here are all the ingredients!

Omelet

Welcome to another cooking blog. The host was my roommate Evan and he made an omelet. First we chopped the vegetables (onion and green pepper). Then we cracked 12 eggs into a bowl. We poured the half and half in the eggs with salt and pepper. Next we added the ham and cheese. Finally we dumped the vegetables in and mixed everything up. Then we cooked the ingredients in a greased pan at 400 degrees for thirty minutes.
