Bisquick Biscuits

Hello people, welcome to another fantastic blog post. The baking lab host this week was Ben. Because it was the first day back from break, we had to make something using the few ingredients that we already had in our pantry. So ... we made Bisquick Biscuits! All we needed was Bisquick mix and milk.

The first thing we did was measure 2 1/4 Cups Bisquick.

The next thing we did was put 2/3 Cup Milk into the same bowl as the Bisquick.

Then we preheated the oven to 450 degrees, then we baked the biscuits for 8-10 minutes.

Then we let them cool for a few minutes, and enjoyed!

Unfortunately, the pictures of the finished biscuits got lost somewhere between the iPad and the blog being published. But they looked something like this!

Biscuits and Gravy

Hello everyone. Our breakfast theme continues this week, as we made biscuits and gravy! Ellie was the host. This was something that most of us had never made before ... and it was a hit!

The first thing we did was to brown the pork sausage. We used one pound.

While the sausage was cooking, we put the biscuits on a baking sheet. We used refrigerated biscuit dough to make it easy! After putting the biscuits on the baking sheet, we put them in the oven.

Here are the cooked biscuits. They smelled great!

After the sausage was cooked, we added 1/3rd cup of flour. After stirring so that the flour coated the sausage, we added three cups of milk. Then a little salt and pepper to season!

Here is a picture of the final product!

Elliot is always good about trying new things. He loved them!

Andrew's Steak Sandwiches!

Today the host was Andrew and we made steak sandwiches.

Here are the ingredients (other than the steak). All we needed was hamburger buns, salt, pepper, and some cooking spray.

First we sprinkled salt and pepper on the steak. We left one unseasoned for Andrew, though. Next we preheated a skillet. When the pan was hot, we put on the steaks.

After one side was done, we flipped them over to the other side.

Then we put the cooked steak on a bun and enjoyed! Some people added steak sauce or ketchup on their sandwich. It was fun to learn how to make something new and they were tasty!

Pumpkin Snickerdoodles!

Hello everyone! Ellie was the host this week and made pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies. They were fun to make and great to eat! Here is a link to the recipe

The first thing we did was mix the dry ingredients (flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and nutmeg).

Next we added butter, canned pumpkin, vanilla, and eggs.

We used an electric hand mixer to stir everything up. We all took a turn learning how to use it.

Here is Jordan mixing the cookies, he is doing a great job!

After it was all mixed up, we had to roll the dough into one inch balls. Here is Evan rolling out some cookies.

In a separate bowl, we rolled the dough balls around in cinnamon and sugar.

Then we put the cookies on a greased pan and made criss-cross marks with a fork.

Here is a picture of the awesome cookies that we made.

Ham, Egg Cheese Buscits

Hello! Welcome back to another fantastic blog post. Our theme for this month seems to be breakfast foods. Our host was Travis.

What we used was 2 Pillsbury biscuit cans
Eggs
10 Slices of ham
Cheese

What we did first was we spread the biscuits onto a pan

Biscuits on the pan

Next we preheated skillet on medium heat to fry eggs. When the skillet was heated, we cracked eggs individually into the pan. We let them fry for a minute, and then we broke the yolks and flipped them over until they were done.

This is a picture of the eggs cooking

When the oven was heated, we put the biscuits in the oven for 15 minutes. We had to cut it in half to fit on the biscuit.

Here is a picture of the ham that Travis bought at the meat counter.

Next what we did was cooked the ham on skillet for 1 minute on each side until hot.

The last thing that we did was to put the cheese on top of the ham and eggs, and then put those into a cooked biscuit.

Here are the finished biscuits.

Breakfast Pizza

Hello everyone! We continued the breakfast trend this week. The host today was Elliot, who made breakfast pizza. We used pre-made pizza crusts, eggs, pre-cooked bacon, and cheese.

The first thing we did was make scrambled eggs. We cracked eggs into a bowl, and added some milk with a little bit of salt and pepper. Then you mix them up and put them into a frying pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Elliot is a master egg cracker!

We cooked the eggs until they weren't runny anymore.

We spread some olive oil on the crust.

Then we spread out the cooked eggs on the pizza crust.

Next we added the bacon.

Lastly we spread some cheese around on top of everything else.

We made two pizzas. We put one on a cookie sheet, and Mr. Jordan put one directly on the rack. We had to switch them around halfway though cooking so that they cooked evenly.

Here is the finished pizza being cut! Looks tasty!

Roasted Green Beans

Today's host was Jordan. We made roasted green beans.
We didn't have to wash them, because they are already washed and cut in the bag.

First we added a small amount of olive oil to the pan. Then we filled the pans with one layer of fresh green beans and sprinkled them lightly with salt and pepper.

Then you shake the pan around to coat the green beans with a small amount of olive oil.

Lastly, we put them oven for 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Here is a picture of the beans when they are finished.

Here is Evan enjoying the beans. Almost everyone tried the beans and was surprised at how delicious they were!

Fruit Salad!

The host today was Lena. We made fruit salad! We used kiwi, strawberries, cantaloupe, lime juice, and a little bit of honey. We bought a cantaloupe that was already cut in half. First we cut the cantaloupe, which was tricky! We cut it into slices, removed the outer shell and cut it into chunks.

Next we removed the leaves and stems from the strawberries. Check out Jordan T with the fancy knife skills!

The last thing to do with the strawberries is to cut them into quarters and put them in the bowl.

Cutting kiwi is tricky also. First, we cut them in half.

Then, you take a spoon and scoop out the fruit.

The next step was that we juiced a lime and added a little bit of honey. Then you mix the liquids together and add them to the cut up fruit.

After everything is in the bowl, you mix everything up!

Here is a picture of the finished fruit salad.

Last step: enjoy!
